Artificial Intelligence Ethics for Business

Date & Time: January 25-27, 2023 (9:00am-4:00pm)
Location: Virtual
Agenda and course description

Today’s computing power and big data are driving the growth of artificial intelligence-enabled technologies at unprecedented speeds. From vacuums and voice assistants to cancer detection systems and automated driving, AI is used for a variety of products and services. But the unregulated development and use of AI-enabled technologies has led to unintended consequences and misuse.

Ethics is at the forefront, with companies proposing best practices or guidelines on how to ethically design, develop, use, and monitor AI-enabled technologies. And western and non-western cultures differ on how they perceive this new technology. Since AI is global, different perspectives must be taken into consideration when decision-making.

In our Artificial Intelligence Ethics course, you will gain an understanding of what artificial intelligence is and how it can impact your organization. This 18-hour course will answer questions on ethical issues facing the industry, why to consider western vs. non-western ethical values, and how AI will be regulated moving forward.

Through a mix of live lectures, group breakout sessions, and individual activities, you will assess current AI trends, analyze specific cases across different industries, evaluate the functionality of an ethical framework, and identify strategies for ethical implementation at your organization. This course will give you a solid foundation in AI, including knowledge of the emerging legal frameworks and the ethical tools to make responsible and more effective decisions.
